**Main Purpose of the Job Role**:
- Act as the face of the client in providing an efficient, professional, and client-focused employment and skills service.
- Collaborate with internal services and partner organizations to develop and deliver a responsive employment and skills service meeting local needs and funding requirements.
- Provide quality careers information, advice, and guidance to inactive young people and unemployed adults, supporting their personal development, career choices, access to suitable training, and preparation for work.
- Identify and help break down personal barriers faced by local people.
- Organize and deliver programs, both small and large group sessions, aiding people to engage with and progress into meaningful learning and work.
- Monitor progress of young people not in education or employment.
- Cultivate strong relationships with internal services, statutory organizations, training providers, partner organizations, and local employers.
**Role Specific Duties and Accountabilities**:
- Assist senior officers and managers to ensure aims, objectives, and priorities for the employment and skills service are met.
- Provide advice, guidance, and information to young people and adults needing support to access learning, work, and personal development opportunities.
- Develop and deliver an effective employment and skills service, collaborating closely with referring organizations supporting local people.
- Provide innovative employment and skills support complementing mainstream welfare-to-work or funded services.
- Maintain strong working relationships with partners and community organizations, including DWP, training providers, colleges, voluntary sector, and charities.
- Agree on robust processes and data sharing protocols with statutory services and partner organizations for client referrals and information exchange.
- Deliver information, advice, and guidance sessions in various settings including schools, colleges, community venues, jobs clubs, job fairs, among others.
- Provide a clear profile of local labor market needs and jobs analysis to support clients with relevant training leading to employment.
- Cultivate relationships with local employers, especially those in growth sectors identified in economic plans.
- Provide mentoring and coaching to prepare clients for the world of work.
- Manage a caseload of clients, maintain regular contact, manage case conferences, and record client progress on databases.
- Develop and maintain client information records, monitoring progress and outcomes closely.
- Develop individual action plans for clients to achieve future aspirations.
- Address barriers to work faced by clients and collaborate with specialist providers to tackle these issues.
- Network with other professionals and employment advisors, drawing in expertise and best practices to support clients.
- Develop resource tools, directories of services for clients, and deliver employability services in various outreach venues.
- Advocate and represent clients to maximize social value and economic benefits in public contracts.
- Negotiate opportunities for income and traded services to deliver bespoke careers information or employability support.
- Work toward performance targets set by senior officers and funders, providing regular updates and progress reports.
- Market services using various communication methods including social media and newsletters.
- Use ICT to monitor client progress in client caseload information systems and various databases.
- Support senior officers in resolving program problems and issues, recommending solutions and implementing agreed actions.
- Actively promote equality, diversity, and challenge discriminatory practices.

- Promote the clients’s employment policies with a focus on diversity, equality, and community involvement.

- Comply with financial procedures and standing orders, identifying opportunities for external funding aligned with business plans and objectives.
- Develop own performance, maintain up-to-date knowledge, and contribute to ongoing professional development.
- Keep relevant information systems updated, support communication across council directorates, and contribute to raising the profile of beneficiaries.
