The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS trust plays a huge part in west Essex and east and north Hertfordshire's way of life.

The trust runs a busy hospital, The Princess Alexandra Hospital and provides services at St. Margaret's Hospital and Herts and Essex Hospital. Together serve a population of around 350,000 people.

**What you’ll be responsible for**:

- Provide, without supervision, an efficient and comprehensive secretarial and administration support to the Safeguarding Children Adults and Maternity teams
- Handle incoming mail and telephone queries, taking messages and appropriate action.
- Type and process medical documentation / reports and ensure prompt dispatch.
- Display an efficient, approachable and professional manner at all times, and have the ability and confidence to communicate effectively with various multi professional agencies. Good organisational skills, flexibility and sound judgement are essential to manage own workload whilst prioritising office duties within an extremely busy environment.
- You will require the maturity and professionalism to undertake regular handling of highly confidential and distressing information concerning children, young people and adults.

**You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust**:
1. An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS

2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times

3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation

**You’ll have the following skills/experience**:

- Excellent communication skills
- both written and verbal
- Excellent organisation skills
- Previous secretarial experience
- Previous NHS experience (desirable)
- Medical terminology knowledge
- Experience of digital systems
- never centre and cosmic
- System Knowledge
- RSA111, AMSPAR (desirable)
- This role may require you to show evidence of vocational level 3 qualification or at least 2 years administration experience._
