Head of Administration and Finance

My client is a professional property management company based in Northern Ireland and Scotland. They have been meeting their clients’ needs for over 180 years. They deliver a comprehensive range of solutions from simple grass cutting, planned preventative maintenance, emergency repairs, building inspections to full block management of residential developments. They ensure clients get the most from their homes.
Due to continued growth and increased demand for their professional services they would like to appoint a **Head of Administration and Finance**. This is a new senior management role providing support to the local Managing Director with responsibility for Client Accounting, Administration and Systems.
You will lead the Administration and Finance team in Northern Ireland and be part of the Oversight Team that provides operational support in Edinburgh and Belfast. You will interact with and work collaboratively with the MD, FD and Head of Client Relations.
Key Contribution Areas:
- Lead the Client Accounts Team and the Team Assistants in Northern Ireland. Recruit, train, develop and oversee the individual roles within this team so it can deliver an effective finance, credit control, administration and support service to our clients and wider team.
- Provide reporting on client finances to the Belfast team. Collaborate with Operations and Finance Director in Edinburgh to deliver appropriate financial control frameworks. Work with the Client Account Manager to ensure that reporting is timely and accurate.
- Collaborate with Head of CRM to develop excellence in all aspects of client service.
- Direct ownership for the development, implementation and day to day running of our key support ‘processes’.
- Training the team in most effective use of client system/portal. Train the team in new software releases, assessing client satisfaction in interaction with systems.
- Contribute to the effectiveness of the Oversight Team.
- Use tools and training available to develop and grow in leadership (leading yourself and others) with the ultimate goal of building a stronger and more effective team.
- Direction ownership of support processes ensuring that the teams adhere to them and recognise their value.

**Skills**:
You have significant book-keeping/accounting experience and ideally hold a professional accountancy qualification or can demonstrate a level of equivalent experience and qualifications.
You will have significant experience in leading, managing, training and developing others in a work context. You will have analytical skills to compile and evaluate data and make recommendations on how to improve service and operations. You can demonstrate a collaborative approach to working particularly in developing performance goals and long-term operational plans.
You must be an excellent face to face and telephone communicator and be a competent writer of business letters. You will have a detailed working experience of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Microsoft Outlook.
Starting salary of £30,000 to £32,000 negotiable. Annual Bonus, 29 days holiday, company pension, Monday to Thursday 9.00am to 5.00pm, 4pm finish on Friday. Smart offices based in Belfast near Cathedral Quarter. Hybrid working may be an option.
