**Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards**:
To be totally customer focused by consistently delivering excellent customer service with aninformed, friendly and effective approach.To provide professional, friendly and efficient Reception service to all guests of the hotel,whilst achieving maximum revenue and guest satisfaction. To maintain standards ofhospitality as laid down by hotel and company policies and procedures.To promote the Company Mission Statement through continual demonstration oftheCompany Personality.

**Responsibilities**:
1. To welcome all guests on their arrival and assist them in a courteous, helpful mannerwith registration and when checking out of the hotel.

2. To assist guests throughout their stay in a friendly and professional manner,informing the Guest Relations Manager of any complaints.

3. To be fully aware of the hotel cash handling andcredit procedures and to report anydiscrepancies to your Supervisor immediately.

4. To operate the hotel switchboard, answering it to the company standard, ensuringthat all messages are correctly handled and processed to guests’ rooms immediately.

5. To be constantly aware of the hotels availability in order to maximise all opportunitiesto sell rooms at the best possible rate.

6. To monitor all guest accounts and to make sure all charges posted are correct withsupporting documentation.

7. To assist the Porters/Concierge department whereapplicable. This may involvedealing with luggage, providing information and booking services as required.

8. To take a reservation according to company standard during periods when theCustomer Sales Centre is unmanned or busy, ensuringall necessary information iscompleted and recorded accurately.

9. To upsell all hotel facilities within the hotelto guests, e.g. room service, bar etc. Tobe fully aware of all functions and facilities within the hotel, i.e. opening/closing timesof breakfast/dinner.

10. To ensure good working relationships with colleagues in the Reception area andother departments of the hotel. To be liaise closely with Housekeeping and Customer Sales Centre, advising them of departures, arrivals, stay-ons and any specialrequests.

11. To ensure the security of guest valuables, departmental keys and floats. This to include ensuring company procedures are strictly adhered to at all times.

12. To ensure that once guests are checked out to ledger the accounts are checked against their correspondence to ensure accurate details are recorded.

13. To deal with guest enquiries, either by fax, telephone, letter or verbally.a) To deal with reservations, confirmation of bookings, allocation of rooms and special requests.b) To be knowledgeable of all hotel rates and terms of business.

14. To consistently deliver superior customer service through our Customer ServiceProgramme

15. To attend training when required

16. To be fully aware of and adhere to Health and Safety, fire and bomb threat and security procedures

17. To be fully aware of and comply with hotel andcompany rules and regulations as identified in the team member handbook. This Job Description cannot be exhaustive due to the peculiar requirements of the hotel industry. Therefore, the job-holder may be required from time to time to carry out tasks requested by the Management

**Salary**: £11.42 per hour
