**Uniserve, **are seeking a talented and experienced individual to join our team as the **Head of Operational Finance**. In this crucial role, you will play a pivotal part in financial management.

As the **Head of Operational Finance**, you will:

- **Partner with Business Unit Leaders**: Collaborate closely with Business Unit Leaders in financial management and reporting, providing support and constructive challenge to optimise results.
- **Senior Leadership Role**: Act as a senior leader within the organisation, contributing to and debating business decisions to ensure financial success.
- **Drive Profit Improvement**: Implement profit improvement plans for Business Units and actively contribute to enhancing financial controls, reporting, and processes.
- **Line Management Responsibility**: Manage and lead a team of Finance Business Partners within the sector, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
- **Operational Finance Oversight**: Oversee site-based Finance teams and operational finance functions, ensuring accurate and timely management financial information for the leadership team.
- **Financial Analysis and Reporting**: Provide in-depth analysis and insight into business performance, identify areas for improvement, and support strategic goals through accurate and timely reporting.
- **Compliance and Governance**: Assure compliance with corporate standards and financial controls, providing strong governance to mitigate risks.

**Key Tasks**:

- Develop and implement Operational Finance business strategy.
- Manage and develop Finance Business Partners and the wider team.
- Oversee the production of timely and accurate management financial information.
- Ensure reconciliation of local reports and central accounts for consistency and robustness.
- Play a key role in group Management account sign-off with the W&T director.
- Manage financial relationships with contract customers.
- Build extensive knowledge of cost and revenue drivers to impact financial results positively.
- Support leadership team decision-making processes.
- Collaborate with Business Leaders in budgeting, forecasting, and variance reporting.
- Foster financial awareness in non-financial managers to enhance overall business performance.

**Key Skills/Attributes**:
The successful applicant will ideally possess:

- Previous relevant experience within a Logistics or Transportation industry and proven track record of adding value to an organisation.
- Full qualification or active pursuit of ACCA / CIMA, aiming to qualify within the next year.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent communication skills and an advocate for strong working relationships.
- Professional manner and work ethic, accustomed to a dynamic environment.
- Proactive and flexible approach to problem-solving.
- Strong analytical skills and commercial awareness.
- Desire for continuous improvement in performance.
- Ability to travel within the UK with a valid driving license.
