**Uniserve**, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Credit Controller to join our finance team. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure timely payment of customer accounts, thereby maintaining healthy cash flow for the company. The Credit Controller will be instrumental in identifying and addressing any issues with overdue accounts and collaboratively working with internal stakeholders to resolve credit-related matters.
**FTC - 1 year to cover maternity leave. **This contract may lead to a permanent position.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Payment Processing**: Prepare and confirm remittances for payments received, facilitating the administration department's efficient allocation to appropriate client accounts.
- **Interdepartmental Collaboration**: Liaise with other departments, management, and Uniserve branches to address unpaid accounts, resolve invoice queries, and take necessary actions, such as placing accounts on hold or initiating legal proceedings.
- **Data Maintenance**: Maintain and update customer details within Multifreight to ensure accurate and current information.
- **Reporting**: Prepare weekly 'Accounts Causing Concern' reports for review by the Accounts Manager/Credit Control Supervisor.
- **Policy Adherence**: Strictly follow the Credit Policy and directives from the Credit Task Force to maintain compliance at all times.
- **Client Account Responsibility**: Take ownership of designated client accounts, ensuring settlements occur within agreed terms.
- **Ad-Hoc Duties**: Undertake other ad-hoc accounting duties as requested by the Credit Control Supervisor or Accounts Manager, supporting various areas of the Finance Team during peak workloads or absences.
**Qualifications**:
- **Experience**: Minimum of 2 years' experience in a credit control department within an office environment.
- **Education**: At least 5 GCSE passes at grade 'C' or above, including English and Mathematics.
- **Skills**: Good knowledge and practical experience of working with MS Office products, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
