**Job summary**:
Are you an enthusiastic, innovative dietitian experienced in specialist dietetic assessment of patients with diverse presentations with an interest in enhancing further your expertise and skill set?

This newly commissioned Band 7 dietitian post provides a fantastic opportunity to work in the developing field of post Covid syndrome alongside other therapists to optimise nutritional treatment as well as leading on the redesign of dietetic outpatient services in the medical surgical dietetic team following the changes in practice accelerated by the pandemic.

As Post Covid is a new and emerging area of practice there are opportunities to lead development of the Post Covid dietetic treatment pathway and enhance your expertise, research and quality improvement skills with training available to support your development.

You will link closely with the dietetic leadership team working alongside 3 other Band 7 team leads who working across Acute Medicine, Specialist Medicine, Surgery and Stroke.

We are looking for an innovative, self motivated dietitian. Excellent leadership, team working, organisational and time management skills are essential.

Your training and development is important to us. You will be well supported working as part of a friendly progressive dietetic department and Post covid therapy team. Training opportunities will be offered to support you to thrive in this role.

**Main duties, tasks & skills required**:
Your role will involve triaging and prioritisation of Post Covid referrals to the Dietitian. You will have a caseload of patients with post covid who are experiencing dietary complications. In addition you will have a key role in representing dietetics at Post Covid MDT meetings and supporting with nutrition related queries.

You will also lead on evaluating and redesigning the current dietetic outpatient services to the Medical Surgical dietetic team as well as providing clinical dietetic expertise to this patient group..

Clinical work is across a variety of settings including outpatients, in patients home, working with individuals and groups with complex needs both remotely and in person, with some in-patient work.

Therapies at Heartlands, Good Hope and Solihull hospitals as part of UHB is committed to providing a 7 day therapy service with participation in bank holiday cover for dietetics.

The Trust is a multi-site organisation, you may be required to work at any of the Trust sites and you may need to change your normal place of work, either temporarily or on a permanent basis, as a result of development or reorganisation of Trust services.

Good standard of general education including GCSE maths and English grade C and above.

A levels or equivalent qualification

Degree in dietetics or equivalent.

Current Registration with HCPC

**Experience**:
**Essential**:
Demonstration of clinical experience enabling

post holder to manage a complex caseload of

patients

Demonstration of significant experience in

managing /leading others

Experience of training other staff / student

dietitians.

Previous experience of conducting audits and/or

research

Good clinical knowledge of specialist area of team

to manage.

Understanding of audit, clinical effectiveness and

its importance in the provision of a quality

service.

Awareness of local needs, eg; ethnic minority and

low income groups.

Broad dietetic knowledge of relevant specialism.

Evidence of CPD.
