A band 7 post within the Stroke and Neurology Team at Heartlands Hospital has become available, this full time post within the Neurology in patient service

the post holder will lead the neuro in-reach service and deliver advanced therapeutic neurological assessment and provide a high standard of neurological rehabilitation within the acute setting to complex patients with a neurological diagnosis.

The role will include some joint working with the stroke therapy team, neuro out patient service and Covid rehab team on site.

We are looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated, innovative physiotherapists who are interested in expanding their knowledge and skills across the neurology and stroke settings.

You will need good clinical skills, a flexible approach; including excellent team working, organisational and time management skills. Evidence of prior leadership would be beneficial to support the role.

You will join our dynamic team of Therapists who strive to provide excellent patient care, focused on holistic patient centred rehabilitation, promoting independence for patients suffering from a wide range of neurological conditions.

**Main duties, tasks & skills required**:
To take a lead role within the stroke & neurology team, providing advanced Physiotherapy assessment and treatment of patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions. To use specialist skills to effectively manage caseload, work priorities including service delivery, patient and professional demands.
- To be a source of expertise, to identify, analyse, evaluate and problem solve to enable the development and delivery of individualized intervention and treatment programmes in a variety of settings.
- To provide a consultative role with relatives and staff providing advice.
- To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.
- To provide leadership and management on a daily basis to the therapy team within specialist area, including supervision, appraisal and development.
- To supervise, educate and assess the performance of students as required.
- To deliver training to multi-disciplinary team members ensuring competence in performing duties within their agreed scope of practice.
- To undertake Evidence Based audit and research projects to further own and team's clinical practice,.
- To work in close collaboration with carers and community teams as applicable to patient need.
- To be responsible for the planning and leadership of the stroke & neurology service, prioritising clinical needs to provide an effective, efficient service.
