College Research and Impact Support Administrator

**Job Purpose**
Research support in the College of Arts is comprehensive and covers research development and funding, partnership development, training and support (Arts Lab), knowledge exchange and impact. It also works in close collaboration with researchers through committees, fora and other groups. The role holder will contribute to research support across the range of services with responsibility for key activities.
**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
1. Work with the College HR team, as a point of contact for Principal Investigators and Project Coordinators in respect of administering agreed staffing requests on research projects in line with University/College/School procedures and project change processes and control.
2. Responsible for initiating project changes including requesting staff changes, requesting / processing budget changes and contract end requests, ensuring that changes are within budget and allowable by funders, and update University systems, as required.
4. In coordination with the Project Coordinators and Assistant Project Coordinator, provide post-award support on research projects, including, for example, monitoring post award expenditure against budget highlighting potential issues.
5. Main point of contact for the operational delivery of the impact acceleration account (IAA) programme in the College. To record, monitor and take responsibility for expenditure against the budget and to work with the steering group and KE Associates to manage the programme.
9. Provide administrative support for knowledge exchange and partnership development events and activities.
10. Engage in professional development activities as appropriate.
**Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills and Experience**

**Essentials**
A1 Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework level 7 (Advanced Higher / Scottish Vocational Qualification level 3, Higher National Certificate) or equivalent, or the ability to demonstrate the competencies required to undertake the duties associated with this level of post having acquired the necessary knowledge in a similar role.
**Skills**
**Essential**
C1 Ability to communicate clearly, orally and in writing.
C2 Excellent service and stakeholder management skills.
C3 Able to effectively use financial systems e.g. to set up and monitor budgets.
C5 Knowledge and understanding of data integrity and its importance
C6 Strong IT skills including Outlook, Excel, Word and networked system software.
C7 Initiative and judgement to resolve problems independently
C8 Effective planning, organising, prioritising and time management, delivering work to standard and on time
**Desirable**
D1 Ability to use Corehr or other human resource systems
D2 Ability to use Moodle or other virtual learning environments.
D3 Knowledge of T4 or other similar content management system.
**Experience**
**Essential**
E1 Experience of research and/or impact support or a similar type of work.
E2 Experience of providing administrative support over different types of activity and to several different teams.
E3 Experience of setting up and managing research support processes or similar.
E4 Experience of collecting and presenting data and information to stakeholders
**Desirable**
F1 Experience of working in a Higher Education environment.
F3 Experience of administering events, workshops and meetings including preparation of minutes.
**Terms and Conditions**
Salary will be Grade 5, £23,715 - £27,929 per annum.
This post is full time (35 hours per week) and open ended.
