**About the Role**:
As an Environmental Health Officer, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of effective and value-driven services. Your responsibilities will encompass a diverse range of areas, including inspections of commercial and domestic premises, investigation of complaints and accidents, enforcement of statutory provisions, and providing invaluable advice to diverse stakeholders.

**Your Duties**:

- Conduct visits, inspections, and investigations, taking necessary actions in accordance with legislation and departmental procedures.
- Address complaints, process inquiries, and manage sampling programs ensuring appropriate actions are taken.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, Council departments, and agencies to ensure compliance with regulations and meet service needs.
- Prepare reports, attend meetings, and provide expert witness statements when necessary.

**Your Profile**:

- Degree or Diploma in Environmental Health or equivalent qualification OR be a final year student studying for a Degree, Diploma, or Master of Science in Environmental Health.
- 6 months work experience in an Environmental Health function.
- Demonstrate a detailed knowledge and understanding of current environmental health issues.
- Familiarity with statutory regulations and legislation.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team.

**Desirable**:

- Certificate of Registration with Environmental Health Officers Registration Board (EHORB) or equivalent.
- 6 months previous experience in the enforcement of environmental health legislation.

**Other Requirements**:

- Hold a full current driving license and access to transport, or access to transport to meet the requirements of the role.
- Ability to work outside of normal office hours, including evenings, weekends, and public/bank holidays, including emergency call out.
