A RUM FELLOW is committed to high ethical and sustainable practices, fabrics are produced according to fair trade principles with tight relationships with family run workshops and weaving cooperatives in Guatemala. A RUM FELLOW rugs are certified by Label Step the fair trade non-profit organisation committed to the wellbeing of weavers and workers in the handmade carpet industry and are Goodweave certified.

Overview:
A RUM FELLOW is looking for a Creative Assistant to join the team based in the design studio in Frome, Somerset. The role will be to assist the creative director Caroline Lindsell and design team across all aspects of the design and production of A RUM FELLOW collections and creative content. Applicants ideally will have proven experience within the design and production of têxtiles and rugs, and be familiar with the interiors market.

**Key Day to day Responsibilities**

**Design**
- Assisting the Creative Director Caroline on the design and development of têxtiles, rugs and all products within collection
- Resizing, recolouring design artwork for bespoke orders
- Working across visual identity of brand output
- Preparation of design presentations and mood boards (digital & physical)

**Production**
- Preparing clear and detailed specification packs for suppliers across product categories
- Reviewing samples and production with a precise and technical eye for colour, technique and material
- Logging & tracking design developments and orders throughout the production pipeline
- Communication and coordination with suppliers to manage complex production schedules

**Admin**
- Processing orders
- help pack and ship customer orders from the design studio with care to presentation
- Communicating with internal team and clients regarding production pipelines & custom designs
- Prepare any necessary documentation and delivery notes relating to orders
- Receiving and preparing shipments - checking, ironing, logging, packing products
- Stock management
- Updating website product info and imagery

**Key Qualities**
- Strong computer skills in Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop/InDesign are essential
- A creative person with a passion for pattern, têxtiles, rugs, weaving, interiors
- A precise eye for colour and technical detail is essential for this role
- Knowledge of weaving would be valued
- Excellent organisational skills
- Excellent visual presentation skills
- Ability to work on their own and manage their time to deliver tasks
- Excellent time management

**Please Note**
- This role will require you to be working from the studio in Frome, Somerset. The role may also require occasional days in the London showroom, and participation at trade shows, events
- This role can be physical at times and require lifting large rugs and fabric rolls and packing up large product items

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Expected hours: No less than 24 per week
