**ASSISTANT BUYER - WOMENSWEAR**

The role of **Assistant Buyer **sits in our wonderful **Buying **department where you will be responsible for progressing the seasonal ranges to hit department product, margin and stock KPI’s. This individual should take responsibility for tasks, awareness of what’s going on in the wider team, start to recommend solutions to problems to the Buyer.
- Day to day as an _**_Assistant Buyer:_**
- Passionate about product and can clearly interpret the Joules brand identity
- Supports the Buyer to develop, progress and deliver the range for all channels
- Customer led mindset, backed up with store visits and competitive shops
- Responsible for critical path management of chasing in approvals, and ensuring suppliers have updated weekly
- Develop relationships with Merchandising, Technical & Design counterparts
- Demonstrates building productive relationships with suppliers
- Understands overarching Buying strategy and accountability in achieving it
- Has an awareness of margin targets and how to deliver
- Has a clear understanding of the CSR targets in line with brand strategy
- Will help manage day to day of trainee under Buyer’s guidance, starting to develop coaching skills
- Demonstrates understanding of own product area including supply base, lead time, product detail and customer
- Strong communication with suppliers and key stakeholders across the business including Wholesale, VM and Marketing
- What we need you to have:_
- Previous experience as a Trainee Buyer required
- Prioritising tasks and communicating back up to the buyer highlighting any issues
- Anticipates problems before they occur and raises with the buyer/wider team
- Takes time to fully understand process - puts in extra effort to make sure work meets required standard
- Listens and supports, is prepared to adapt style
- Demonstrates resilience
- Self-motivated in completing tasks in a proactive manner
