About Switchshop
Switchshop Limited is a successful, growing company specialising in IT network design implementation and support, including the following.
- network infrastructure (wired and wireless);
- data centre infrastructure;
- cyber security, firewalls, etc.
We are a value-added reseller for several major IT manufacturers, including HPE/Aruba, Fortinet, Ruckus, Sonicwall, and Splicecom. We sell network and data centre infrastructure and additionally provide technical design, installation, and support services to customers.
The company was established in 2000 and has grown consistently ever since. We currently have 56 employees split primarily between sales staff and engineers operating from our offices in Kimpton, Hertfordshire.
Job specification
Responsibilities include:
- Processing customer orders: liaising with the sales team, suppliers, and distributors, obtaining the best possible purchase price. In addition to providing daily updates on all outstanding orders.
- Use of manufacturers’ portals: to ensure the best prices are obtained along with extending price guarantees.
- Shipping goods: liaising with logistics partners and customers; chasing goods shipped directly from distribution to customers. This should include shipping information, proof of delivery, and product serial numbers as well as processing returns where necessary. Shipping goods from Switchshop’s own warehouse and receiving goods will also be required.
- Providing support across the whole team where required
- Answering telephone calls: transferring calls, taking messages, etc.
- Additionally, other general office duties.
All members of the team provide cover and extra capacity when required across other job functions within the department.
Person specification
Experience in relation to any of the responsibilities set out above would be an advantage but is not essential. Training in relation to the specific functions of the Operations Administrator role will obviously be provided.

- As well as have good computer skills including experience using Microsoft Office.
Other requirements
Full driving license and car are a requirement due to office location and poor public transport links.
