We are looking for an excellent communicator who will lead on service delivery in partnership with our clinical directors. This will include responsibility for maintaining quality standards, meeting performance targets, developing a sustainable workforce and budget management. Starting Well integrates a number of service areas and relies on effective engagement with wider partners to ensure the best provision of service to children and families within their locality.

They will be able to demonstrate commitment to our Trust’s visions, values, continuous improvement and ensuring the effective management and delivery of the services within the Starting Well portfolio.

Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (CWP) supports thousands of vulnerable people across Cheshire and Merseyside. We provide physical, mental health and learning disability services to a total population of around one million people.

As Head of Clinical Services, you will be a key member of our operational management team and will be responsible for Starting Well that includes the following services:
Starting Well 0-19 (Health Visiting, Family Nursing, PHN 5-19, Children’s Centre Core Offer)

School Aged Immunisation Service

Children in Care Specialist Nursing Service

implementing Trust-wide initiatives within the Children Young People and Families Care Group.

Contract and performance management working closely with Local Authority Commissioners

Lead innovation and develop the Starting Well services to maximise efficiency and best practice in line with national and local specification requirements

Continue to expand partnership working and greater integration across the workforce and other service areas.

CWP provides health and care services for local people, including mental health, learning disability, community physical health and all-age disability care - including the provision of three GP surgeries.

All new clinical support staff will be required to have completed or working towards the Care Certificate (CWP In-house 2 day training to be completed within 6 months of start date).

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. A small annual fee of £13 per year applies.

New entrants to the NHS will commence on the minimum of the scale stated above.
