Job Purpose

You will be accountable for registering the asset register update requests received into the Asset Registration Team. This involves responding directly to certain types of requests or inputting the supplied details into SAP PM or Workflow system for the wider team to process. This will involve review for compliance to our acceptance criteria, resolving any non-compliance.

Principal Accountabilities

Generate and issue unique site and Link Box numbers to the Requesters and create site records on SAP (where applicable to process).

Conduct basic level assurance for accuracy and completeness on incoming asset data from field staff, Project Managers, and Independent Connections Providers. Register the associated SAP work for further assurance and processing by the wider ART Team via status updates in work order transactions and use of the Asset Information Work Flow Tool.

Assess simple field work for accuracy and completeness then undertake basic data validation of asset registration and network records received from the business.

Validate location details for potential new ground-mounted substations, pole-mounted equipment, and underground Link Boxes

Monitor System Alterations newly applied to the Live ADMS network diagrams to identify outstanding asset data. Communicate outstanding data issues to the Business via status updates in work order transactions or via the Outstanding Data list as per process.

Export and forwarding of Excel documents from ART workstreams where required

Assist with general enquiries from Field Staff, Project Managers and Contractors to help resolve data issues and minimise.

Maintain good internal and external working relationships between UK Power Networks teams and contractors.

Support and facilitate Asset Registration records assurance and audit activities to ensure compliance with associated procedures.

Nature & Scope

The Asset Registration Administrator works within the Asset Registration (ART) Team within the Enterprise Data Management (EDM) department of the Asset Management directorate.

Asset information is a combination of data about our physical assets, used to inform decisions about how they are managed, both for short term operational purposes and for long term strategic planning. The EDM function determines asset information requirements within an asset management context, how it is collected, stored and analysed, and communicated both internally and externally to our partners and regulator.

Good asset information is crucial in the successful operation of our business. It is necessary for accurate and informed decision making concerning when and how we should invest in and operate our network, ensures the safe operation of our assets through maintenance, and guarantees accurate reporting to the regulator concerning both our investment plans and associated achievement.

You will be an important member of a diverse team, ensuring that our asset registration systems are updated and maintained to ensure the accuracy of our asset records and providing associated support to the wider business.

You will build relationships with partners throughout the business.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

Minimum of level 2 (GCSE) qualification or equivalent in Maths and English.

Practical experience using databases including master data entry

Good level PC literacy, with the ability to learn and use a variety of systems with fast and accurate keyboard skills.

Correctly interpret technical data supplied from multiple field staff and contractors and to understand when data supplied could be inaccurate.

Analysis - The drive to bring rigorous analysis to all data issues, to understand the cause and effect and the impact that these will have on our assets.

Experience using an Enterprise Resource Planning System, ideally SAP

Understanding of General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)

Desirable

An understanding of the electricity distribution network, plant & equipment at all voltages.
