Job summary

East Hill Surgery, located in Colchester, is delighted to be recruiting for a surgery administrator to join their busy team, this role is available part or full time,to work between hours per week, and job share will be considered.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of the role include:

Responsible for the day to day administration for the practice. Provide advice & guidance to all staff in the use of the clinical system. Provide general assistance to the team & project a positive and friendly image to patients & other visitors, either in person or via the telephone. Deal with all general enquiries, explain procedures as required. Support clinicians in providing regular reports on the progress of these clinicians in achieving targets. Assist with validation of patient information, performing quality audits & administration of the clinical system. Manage all patient registrations, deductions, amendments etc including notes etc from PCSE. Action PCSE requests for urgent records. Manage workflow manager & weekly, monthly recalls. Manage scanning, coding & filing of documents in a timely manner, complete follow up actions. Assist with all electronic correspondence sent to the surgery, direct into the system. Receive & make telephone calls as required, divert calls, take messages, ensuring accuracy of detail & prompt appropriate delivery. Enter patient information onto the computer as required. Ensure that all new patients have the necessary paperwork completed promptly, so that their registrations can then be put onto the computer. Check the website back office function daily & manage accordingly. Assist with annual flu clinics & set up. Assist with ordering supplies. Manage audits as required.

If you are a well organised person, who thrives in a busy working environment then this could be the role for you. You will have the following skills & experience: A strong attention to detail, ability to work to a high standard. Must have an ability to manage own workload but will have the support of the line manager and administration team. Must be a team player and flexible. Experience in Emis Web clinical system, coding, IIF, QoF would be advantageous but candidates with NHS or primary care experience in similar roles are welcome to apply.
