The Avenue Cookery School is one of the leading cookery schools in London, offering fun cookery classes and courses for all ages and abilities. We are family-run, and our main aim is for people to relax and cook while having fun and feeling at home. Our young-minded and relaxed team are currently seeking a Marketing & Admin Assistant to assist the small office team of 2, who will offer you guidance and support.

This position is for an enthusiastic person who is self-motivated, hard-working, efficient, reliable, takes initiative, writes and speaks fluently in English, has an enthusiastic and friendly phone manner, with high attention to detail, is an 'out of the box' thinker, has experience in MS Office and who has the characteristics of a ninja

Roles will primarily include managing our social media and mailers, answering the phone, brainstorming and executing new marketing channels, dealing with our suppliers and collaborations, and generally making the marketing their 'baby'. You will be expected to take the reigns on the marketing and expected to take initiative with new innovative ideas but will have full support from both the managers. There is a lot to be done so there should be no reason for clock watching, thumb twiddling or personal phone use - a get-things-done attitude is essential while maintaining high attention to detail

It is very important that the person is a hard worker and self-motivated while being easy-going and enthusiastic as we are primarily a fun family-run business that wants to reflect that fun to customers. We are a straightforward and to-the-point team so we are looking for someone who can take constructive criticism and can be honest back. Being flexible in the role is a must as we are a small company and, when needed, all pitch in together but mostly you will be given work to get on with alone. It is imperative that you can work well from home without someone watching over you as when you are settled into the role you will be working separately from the rest of the office team for the majority of the week. We ask you that at least 1 day a week you work from the office in our Wandsworth school.

This role is an entry-level position or for someone who is looking to use their current career skills in a small business where they can make a difference and their opinion has weight. Knowledge, whether personal or business-related, in marketing and social media, is a must and so is an interest in food and cooking. You will definitely improve your food knowledge and skills and will have the option to join the occasional class.

Hours: 45 hours a week; Monday - Friday, 9am - 6pm

Payments & Perks:
28 Days Holiday per annum (inclusive of bank holidays), pro rata
