Your role is all about enabling people within the communities in which we operate to feel safe and secure in their homes and neighborhoods. You will work effectively with stakeholders to take a coordinated approach in achieving this outcome. You’ll be able to make a significant difference to the lives of our customers and those in our neighborhoods - it’s a role with a real difference

This role would suit someone looking for part time work. This is a 27.5HRS PER WEEK POSTING FOR 17 WEEKS._**

**As a Safer Communities Officer a typical day might include**:

- Managing a caseload of antisocial behavior (ASB) cases and completing all associated tasks, which will include:

- Interviewing victims and perpetrators
- Ensuring case management systems are up to date with accurate information
- Assessing risk and making appropriate referrals to agencies and services such as Supporting Foundations and Adult Social Care
- Gathering and reviewing diary sheets, noise monitoring, CCTV and any other evidence
- Working within relevant policies and procedures, making decisions and taking appropriate and proportionate actions to drive cases forward to resolution
- Writing professional statements
- When necessary, preparing and supporting the legal team with court cases.
- Working with the community to prevent antisocial behavior and promote community cohesion; such as taking part in community initiatives including days of action, community led meetings and youth projects
- Working closely with other departments such as Area Service Managers, Estate Officers and development teams; accompanying them on visits and offering advice and guidance relating to all aspects of community safety and antisocial behavior.
- Completing police related tasks such as CCTV enquiries and disclosure requests
- Attending, and when necessary, chairing multi-agency meetings such as police and community action groups, ARM (ASB reduction meetings), ASBRAC (ASB risk assessment conferences), MARAC (multi-agency risk assessment conference) and Team Around the Child / Child in Need meetings
- Identifying and referring to mediation
- Working closely with Community Safety Partnerships and when necessary updating shared case management systems.

**What we are ideally looking for**:

- A good standard of education (minimum NVQ 2 numeracy and literacy, or equivalent)
- A basic understanding of antisocial behavior and social housing
- Excellent report writing and statement taking skills
- You’ll be organized, with the ability to keep paper and electronic systems up to date with accurate records.
- Experience in a similar role, ideally within housing or a related field
- You’re able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and are able to effectively manage confrontation and difficult conversations.
- You’re experienced at working with vulnerable people and victims of crime including domestic abuse.
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships with partner agencies with be something you’re experienced and skilled at and you’ll have examples of how you’ve worked effectively with stakeholders at multiple levels.
- You’ve got good IT skills -experience of using a case management system and a good knowledge of Microsoft Office is a must.
