We are currently recruiting for a purchasing assistant to join our client on temporary to permanent basis. The role is to support the engineering, production, planning, logistics, sales and marketing and quality teams through managing our supplier relationships to ensure a timely inventory flow.

Working hours are

Monday to Thursday 8:30 - 17:00

Friday 8:00 - 13:00

Responsibilities include:

- Placement of Purchase orders through our supplier base to support our end to end manufacturing process
- Placement of Purchase orders through our supplier base to support our end to end manufacturing process
- Liaise with internal departments to effectively deliver the above
- Track supplier reliability & performance
- Utilise the demand forecast to identify potential shortfalls, taking appropriate remedial action
- Review Inventory levels to measure outflow against forecast
- Ensure Suppliers deliveries meet the identified standards
- Create and maintain part data for all materials and products purchased
- Support internal & external teams with new product development

Requirements are:

- Strong organisation skills
- Ability to deal with challenging situations
- Positive approach
- Experience of working within production manufacturing environment
- Experience of managing customer relationships both remotely and face to face
- Knowledge of MRP systems
- Knowledge of Microsoft office package
- Good interpersonal skills
- Great communication skills
- Membership or working towards CIPS/IOSCM
