**Job Title: Purchasing Assistant**

**Reporting to: Procurement Manager**

**Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 8.00am to 5.15pm (43.75hrs)**

**Breaks: 30 minutes Lunch**

**Start date: Immediate/ASAP (Permanent Full Time Position)**

**Salary: £27-30k per year.**

We are looking for a dynamic and skilled individual to join our purchasing department as a purchasing assistant. The construction industry is very fast paced and demanding, and you will be required to react quickly and efficiently to the customers’ requirements. In this role, you will need to meet tight deadlines daily by placing orders before supplier cut off times, whilst going to several suppliers to secure the best prices.

**Job Responsibilities & Daily Duties**
- Monitor stock levels and identify purchasing needs
- Raise Purchase Orders & Direct Delivery Purchase Orders from the system.
- Process Order Acknowledgements - enter data on system, check details and ensure pricing matches. Investigate and negotiate any discrepancies.
- Research and compare potential vendors and their offers - negotiate and make savings.
- Prepare cost analysis & excel reports.
- Track orders and ensure timely delivery.
- Update relevant teams with any product delays or problems with supply.
- Liaise with warehouse staff to ensure all products arrive in good condition.
- Organise and arrange supplier Returns.
- Monitor and resolve supplier non-conformances.
- Other purchasing administrative tasks and responsibilities.

**Job Skills & Qualifications**

Required:
Two or more years of experience in purchasing

Ability to negotiate pricing and shipping details with suppliers

Advanced Excel Skills

Strong communication skills

Preferred:
Background in the Construction / M&E industry.
