**POST** HR Administrator

**HOURS** Part time (28 hours per week)

**RESPONSIBLE TO**: Practice Business Manager

**Main Role**:
Your main responsibilities as the HR administrator will be to maintain and update employee records, as well as manage various HR documents and internal databases, such as holiday and leave.

**What does the HR administrator do?**

HR administrators will act as the first port of call to employees and external partners for all HR related queries. As a priority, HR administrators will handle the majority of employee documentation, including contracts, recruitment paperwork and starter packs.

A good understanding and knowledge of employment law and ensuring the Practice uses its HR Advisory organisation, Avensure, to ensure it conforms to the Law is key. Assisting with any other administrative tasks as and when they arise may be necessary, including helping with travel arrangement.

**HR administrator responsibilities**

Your responsibilities as the HR administrator will include but are not limited to:

- All aspects of recruitment from creating job descriptions, advertising roles, shortlisting, interviews and onboarding.
- Induction of new starters (including Medical Students) taking them on tours of the branches, ensuring key information is given about each site such as fire exits and procedures.
- Completing Return to Work meetings with staff, preparing a record of absences and calculating their Bradford factor scores.
- Attending investigatory, disciplinary, performance, appraisal and probation meetings, ensuring that accurate and concise notes are made.
- Drafting, amending and preparing HR letters and documents to confirm contractual changes or to share new information with staff and ensuring that acceptance is received.
- Collation, auditing, maintaining and filing of all employee records (paper and electronically).
- Updating the HR and Practice policies and ensure staff understanding.
- Calculation of annual leave allowance and administration on Intradoc.
- Monitoring of annual leave to ensure employees are booking this correctly and using it appropriately throughout the year.
- Monitoring of employee's contractual entitlements to ensure employees are paid correctly.
- Calculation of Salary information for new starters and any deductions to be made for leavers.
- Organisation, administration, collation and cascade of annual staff surveys - identifying areas of concern and suggesting solutions.
- Take part in team discussions about staff wellbeing and team building events.

**HR administrator skills and competencies**

Previous administrative experience in HR processes is essential but not necessarily in the healthcare sector. In most cases, training is provided on the job, if this is relevant. Being organised and able to prioritise is vital, as is having good communicative and relationship building skills, as you will work with various people across the whole business.

HR administrators will be expected to be proficient in the following:

- Experience as a HR administrator or HR administrator’s assistant
- Computer literate with programmes such as word, excel, etc.
- Understanding of Employment Law processes
- Organisational skills and ability to prioritise

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £13.50 per hour

Expected hours: 28 per week
