**Contract Basis**:Permanent, Term Time and INSET plus 3 weeks (42 weeks)
**Salary**: SPC 25-29 (£30,095 - £33,486 FTE)

(£29,530 - £32,657 actual salary)

**Overall Purpose of the Role**:
The be responsible for leading the smooth organisation and operation of School Data, MIS systems and Examinations.

**Key Duties**:

- Supporting the senior leadership team and staff in implementing a vision for excellence by providing a level of service to all stakeholders based on high standards.
- Supporting the senior leadership team and colleagues in creating a climate hospitable to education in order that safety, a co-operative spirit and other foundations of fruitful interaction prevail.
- Cultivating leadership in others so that students and colleagues assume their parts in realising the school vision.
- Providing a level of service which enables teachers to teach and students to learn.
- Provide a high standard of strategic and operational support for internal and external exams; collection, collation and analysis of data; maintenance and upkeep of the school MIS.

**Data and MIS Responsibilities**:

- Have lead responsibility for school’s systems of assessment recording and reporting.
- Manage MIS systems’ upgrades (Bromcom, SQL, IIS etc) and be the key user of MIS within the

School.
- Working with the leadership team to review and predict performance of all year groups.
- Manage the input into and transfer of data between the various databases across the School and

Trust.
- Collect and input data into the school’s MIS, including, for example, pupil data, intervention data,

CATs, reading ages, KS2 data, timetable/class changes.
- Lead the development of systems for collecting, verifying and processing data.
- Produce reports and data analysis as required by the SLT from the MIS and other systems as required.
- Assist with the preparation of data for the submission of returns to the DFE and LA etc., including the School Census, data checking exercise.
- Acquire and make available reports and analysis published by the DFE, LA and other bodies.

**JOB DESCRIPTION & SPECIFICATION**
- Keep electronic and hard copy records secure and confidential.
- Provide relevant attendance, behaviour and achievement data to key teaching staff.
- Update yearly the Assessment Mark sheets to allow staff to access the relevant tracking information that is used.
- Import data from third party sources and ensure complete accuracy of the data is maintained.
- Use alternative data sources to check the accuracy, follow up and amend the data received from feeder schools if inaccuracies are found.
- Be the point of contact for any queries over the data held on the MIS.
- Liaise with external bodies should you not be able to provide a solution to a problem that is being experienced and ensure as a minimum ‘downtime’ period.
- Responsible for the comprehensive administration, development and analysis of data related information for the school.
- Organise audit of data at regular intervals and highlight where corrective action is needed.
- Use MIS system to record internal assessment and produce reports to parents/carers.
- Manage the production and distribution of progress checks/reports and other reports to parent/carer(s).
- Liaison with the Trust and schools’ IT team ensuring any system issues are resolved promptly and relevant software upgrades are processed.
- Lead the administration staff in the maintenance of the pupil database, planning for the admissions procedure and smooth transfer of records to the school’s system.
- Attend relevant training provided to keep abreast of developments in data related administration.
- Work closely with the SLT and be innovative in creating and developing ways of using data to enhance pupil outcomes.
- Participate in supervisory duties in accordance with the duty rota schedules to support the culture within the organisation.

**Exams Responsibilities**:

- Undertake line management of the Exams Manager.
- Support and train the Exams Manager with the administration of school pupil tracking and reporting process.
- Assist the Exams Manager with the annual exam entries.
- Assist the Exams Manager in the production and provision of pupil progress and tracking data to departments and senior leadership team

- Act as a line manager as required by the Principal.
