Central to our ethos is our belief that people with first-hand experience of successfully overcoming issues such as an offending background, homelessness, addictions and gang involvement, hold the key to positive change in others.

**About this exciting opportunity**

As our **Youth Engagement Worker**, you will be responsible for supporting the engagement and involvement of young people across Wales, which will include recruiting participants from diverse backgrounds onto the programme and to support and deliver a variety of education and youth-based courses within North and South Wales areas.

We will also count on you to facilitate opportunities for young people to build their skills and confidence so that young people’s participation and contributions are maximised and that they can express their views, plus act as a champion for youth engagement, adopting a young person centric approach to the work of St Giles Cymru. Holding and supporting a caseload of young people to overcome barriers, increase employability and progress into meaningful and sustainable Education, Training and Employment will also be a key duty, as is supporting the promotion of the project both internally and externally.

**What we are looking for**
- Proven record of managing a caseload and achieving individual set targets for engagement and progression
- Experience providing a person-led support service that responds to an individual’s employment and wider needs and aspirations
- Minimum Level 3 Certificate in Youth Work qualification or equivalent
- Ability to engage and holistically support those who may face multiple / complex barriers to employment
- Ability to identify barriers, and provide tailored coaching and mentoring so the young person can progress into education, employment, or training
- First-class interpersonal, relationship-building and communication skills, both verbal and written
