Post-doctorate Research Fellow

The postholder will be an experienced academic researcher with a credible track record of leading research bids in the health and social care field with an emphasis on health inequalities, vulnerable groups and public health. They will work closely with academic partners and key stakeholders within UKHSA and HMPPS in order to grow the portfolio of academic health research within Spectrum CIC, particularly prison health research.
- Take a leadership role working closely with the Clinical Research Nurse to develop and implement Spectrum’s research strategy
- Undertake peer-review activity for external research funding organisations
- Work effectively with patients, the public and healthcare staff to ensure our research meets the needs of these groups

e.g. ethics, NHS research governance and HMPPS as required
- Manage the day-to-day delivery of academic research studies within Spectrum
- Develop and maintain a professional and approachable manner with all colleagues and other individuals
- Agree to develop a Personal Development Plan which will be reviewed annually through the annual appraisal programme
- Maintain a personal/professional profile
