Role Overview
The South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialty Doctor to join our Psychiatry Intensive Care Unit (PICU) team at Fieldhead Hospital. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients with complex mental health needs.
Main Responsibilities- Provide clinical leadership and expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with acute mental health conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Participate in educational and training activities to enhance the skills and knowledge of colleagues.
- Engage in research and quality improvement initiatives to advance the field of psychiatry and improve patient outcomes.
- MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
- Minimum of 4 years postgraduate training in psychiatry or equivalent experience.
- Approved under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act or able to achieve within 6 months of appointment.
- At least 6 months experience in acute care pathway.
- MRCPsych or equivalent qualification.
- Experience in forensic psychiatry or other medical specialties.
- Proven track record of academic and research achievements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexibly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and lifelong learning.
