We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the East Suffolk Council's Private Sector Housing Team as a **Business Support Officer (Administrator) **for the Pathfinder Project.

The Suffolk Councils have secured £2.3M of funding from Department for Housing, Levelling Up and Communities (DHLUC) to run a programme of data led, proactive action to improve standards in the private rented sector. East Suffolk Council has been selected as the lead authority for this programme.

We are looking for an experienced Business Support Officer to provide project and administrative assistance to the project manager and other members of the team for a 2 year period. The first piece of work will involve commissioning the development of a Suffolk-wide stock
- condition data base to inform following campaigns and action. A series of campaigns targeting tenants, landlords, letting agents and other housing professions will follow with a wide reaching inspection programme with enforcement where other approaches fail.

The key features include developing an online stock condition tool that enables the authorities to accurately map the main areas of concern, and to build training and engagement opportunities for landlords and tenants around key issues such as damp and mould, housing health and safety rating systems, minimum energy standards, and landlord and tenant rights and responsibilities. It will also have a dedicated inspection team to tackle poor housing on the ground in a proactive manner. The field work will involve engagement of a flying squad of staff who will dedicate concentrated period of time to an area and then move on to the next, delivering a comprehensive inspection regime and improvements in housing standards.

You will be required to support with record keeping, budgeting, producing performance reports, organising meetings, training and activities as well as liaising with staff and contractors.

We would also welcome this as a potential secondment opportunity from other Suffolk Local Government Authorities
