**Job overview**:
**An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Postgraduate Medical Education and Revalidation Department for a proactive administrator to support the planning and delivery of high quality education for the Trust's junior doctors.**

This is an interesting and dynamic service; therefore, the post holder is expected to be flexible and enthusiastic in order to support the evolving nature of education and training. To meet the needs of the Trust’s services, you may be required from time to time to work at different locations to your normal place of work. The department values a healthy work/life balance, and this post will include opportunities to work from home.

**Main duties of the job**:
To work as part of the Postgraduate Medical Education (PGME) and Revalidation department to support the delivery of an efficient and professional administrative service including maintaining accurate records and documentation, inputting and extracting data, sending and responding to internal and external communications, supporting the effective management of meetings and events, including scheduling, agenda preparation, minute taking, and the recording of actions.

**Detailed job description and main responsibilities**:
The PGME and Revalidation Department works to ensure the medical education and training of doctors is delivered across the Trust to national, local, and professional quality standards. The team covers the Bury, Oldham, and Rochdale Care Organisations, which make up the Northeast Sector (NES) of the Northern Care Alliance (NCA). The delivery of Postgraduate Medical Education is embedded within the Trust’s strategic goals, and it is recognised that high quality medical education has a significant downstream effect; it not only raises the quality of service provision but also the quality of doctors attracted to work at the Trust and the quality of patient experience. PGME and Revalidation therefore safeguards the reputation of the Trust and supports its ambition to be the safest organisation in the UK.

Led by the Director of Medical Education, the Responsible Officer, and the Head of Service for Postgraduate Medical Education & Revalidation, the Postgraduate Medical Education and Revalidation team work closely with all junior doctors and Physician Associates to understand their education needs and to ensure they receive the appropriate level of support and training. Moreover, those delivering education across the Trust are also supported and developed by the team.

- Administrative experience gained in a fast-paced environment, e.g. events management, training administration or PA/ coordinator role
- Experience of providing administrative services in a customer focussed environment
- A good level of computer literacy including experience of using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, including a flexible approach to work.
- Good communication skills, including written and verbal, with a positive telephone manner.
- Good organisational and time management skills, including ability to manage and prioritise own workload.
- Ability to work on own initiative with minimum supervision, whilst remaining a team player who remains calm under pressure
