CMC Markets have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Payments Executive to join the CMC UK Payments Team.

The role will suit someone who is self-motivated, has a natural ability in analysing and interpreting data. There is a large amount of change within the Payments “Industry” and we are always looking to see how we can benefit from these changes.

The role allows several interactions across the business such as Finance, Client Services, Institutional Support, and the wider Business Operations Team.

** Please note that this is an onsite role that requires 5 days per week in the London office near Liverpool Street.**

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- We are looking for an additional Payments Executive to work within the European Payments Team, within the Business Operations Department. The role reports to the Payments Operation Manager and is an excellent opportunity for anyone wishing to expand their knowledge and experience of payments working with multiple banks and service providers.
- The team works closely with Client and Broker Services teams, the wider Business Operations team, Financial Crime Team (FCT), Trading Applications Support (TAS), Treasury, Finance, Client Money team and supports Payment Teams in the other regions.
- The role will consist of communication across all of these teams as well as close communication with our Payments Business Analyst to encourage positive change and enhancements to the team’s daily processes.
- Process and monitor incoming and outgoing payment transactions accurately, timeously and with awareness of cut off times for the respective countries and payment types. Some of the countries where our banks are situated include UK, Germany, Canada, UAE, Norway, Poland and Australia The predominant payment types include bank, card and wallet transfer.
- Work closely with the wider Business Operations Team to ensure payments are authorised within the above cut off times.
- Where necessary investigate and assist with resolving payment queries ensuring we put the customer’s best interests first.
- Liaise with various banks and payment service providers as required, for example contacting the bank if there is insufficient information on an incoming payment or if a beneficiary is claiming non-receipt of an outgoing payment
- Ensure all correspondence in connection with customers is recorded in the Client Relationship Management system (CRM)
- Work closely with Reconciliation’s team to investigate and resolve outstanding breaks daily
- Work closely with the Treasury, Finance and Client Money teams to monitor cash balances and request/process account funding
- Maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the role, including all relevant regulatory and legislative training for example, GDPR and Anti Money Laundering (AML).
- Work shifts, as required, to cover the opening hours of the Payments Team based in the UK (07:00- 18:00).
- Investigate and fix straight through processing exceptions, manually intervening in automated processes as required
- Raise any system incidents that occur to the Trading Application Support Team (TAS) and follow up continuously until the issue is resolved. Escalate incidents to the Payments Operations Manager as required
- Contribute change suggestions and assist with user acceptance testing to move system and process improvements into business as usual for the team
- Assist with reporting relating to volumes, charges etc. on behalf of the Payments team as required
- Undertake such other duties, as may reasonably be required and which is consistent with the general level of responsibility of this role.
- Maintain personal/professional development to meet the changing demands of the role, including all relevant regulatory and legislative training.
- When dealing with all customers, clients or colleagues ensure that we provide a clear, fair and consistent high quality service that presents a professional and positive image of CMC Markets
- Take all reasonable steps to ensure appropriate confidentiality
- Undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this role.

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Previous Payments experience
- A good understanding of UK and European Payment types, online banking platforms and payment service providers such as wallets and cards
- Experience working in a role requiring problem solving and an ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Working knowledge of Word and Excel (preferable)
