Agri-Food and BioSciences Institute (AFBI) is a leading provider of scientific research and services to government, non-governmental organisations and commercial organisations. We are sponsored by our key stakeholder, the Department of Agriculture Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA).

An opportunity has arisen within AFBI for one 28-month fixed term Staff Officer (SO) position to coordinate the communications on the Soil Nutrient Health Scheme and EJP Soils.

**The main duties of the post are to;**
- Implement communication strategies and campaigns to promote the projects in line with the project communication plans.
- Assist with press releases, media advisories and other communications materials to local and national media outlets.
- Assist with project media enquiries and interviews with key project staff.
- Manage the projects’ social media presence, including creating and scheduling posts and monitoring engagement.
- Assist with events to promote the projects, including the annual Balmoral Show, and coordinate

**You must meet the following criteria;**
- Level 5 (Foundation Degree) or equivalent in communications, marketing, public relations, or related field AND one years’ relevant experience*;
**OR**
- Level 4 or equivalent (HNC) in communications, marketing, public relations, or related field AND two years' relevant experience*;
**AND**
- Proficient in the use of MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
- Possess a full driving licence which enables the post holder to drive a car in Northern Ireland and have access to a form of transport which will permit them to meet the requirements of the post in full.**Our reference**: SE3427

**Salary**: £32,880 - £34,011

**Hours**: Normally be required to work 5 days each week, totalling 37 hours.
