Adoption UK is the leading charity providing support, community, and advocacy for all those parenting or supporting children who cannot live with their birth parents. Our vision is for an equal chance of a bright future for every child unable to live with their birth parents.
**What you’ll be doing**
Working 17-20 hours per week, you will have the exciting opportunity to supporting us to coordinate a programme of regional support to local adopters. You will be responsible for our network of peer volunteers who lead the delivery of Peer Support Groups, across Northern Ireland. You will be integral in collating and evaluating the impact of our services by listening to the feedback from our adopters and using this data to improve and create new services for the adoption community.
This is a dynamic, interesting and creative role for someone committed to community development.
**You will**
- Coordinate the delivery of our Peer Support Programme.
- Recruit volunteers for our Peer Support Group networks that will lead themed and geographical groups across Northern Ireland.
- Manage and coordinate the volunteer Leads to plan and facilitate, meetings and events.
- Create, develop, and promote current and new activities or services.
- Collate, analyse and report on participation and engagement data.
**Who you are**
Having the passion, creativity, coordination, and organisational skills to ensure our Peer Support programme meets the needs of the adoption community, you will,
- Have experience of managing or coordinating volunteers
- Be experienced in group work facilitation
- Have personal or professional experience of adoption, or good understanding of the support needs of adopted families.
- Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Have the ability to build and maintain relationships
What we offer
This is a permanent part time contract, working 17-20 hours per week with a salary of £24,165 per annum pro-rata.
The role will be based out of our Belfast office with some home working flexibility. There will be a requirement to travel throughout Northern Ireland as required.
