The Lowry is an internationally acclaimed cultural landmark situated at the heart of MediaCityUK, one of the world's most exciting culture and media destinations. We are committed to celebrating the unique heritage of the location, putting communities and people at the heart of all we do.

**About the role**:
The post holder will coordinate and deliver creative activity and pastoral care for The Lowry's 'Arts for Social Change Programme' and targeted engagement work. The programme supports young people experiencing challenging circumstances including Young Carers, Looked After Children, Young Parents and Young People At Risk of, or Experiencing Homelessness.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Identify ways to recruit young people via consultation with young people, families and the local community and key agencies.
- Develop and maintain relationships with organisations / groups working with underrepresented families, including Young Carers, Looked after Children, Young Parents and Young People at Risk of, or Experiencing Homelessness.
- Build sustainable relationships with local young people and families, and support them to take part regularly in The Lowry activities, opportunities and experiences.
- Work with the Engagement Manager to plan and deliver projects (outreach and regular programme) and (celebration events or performances).
- Support freelancers, support artists and project volunteers.
- Co-ordinate practical logistics including supporting attendance, contacting young people/families/carers, arranging transport, consent forms.
- Support the effective administration and operational running of the programme, including organising contracts, materials, equipment and venues.
- Maintain accurate budget records and cost trackers.
- Effectively support monitoring, evaluation and reporting information, including case studies. Deliver a programme that responds to the needs and aspirations of the young people and families the post holder is working with.
- Lead the delivery of the AQA accreditation scheme and the Arts Award where appropriate.
- Support events where possible and have a presence in the venue with participants, companies and audiences.
- Commit to and attend training for Continued Professional Development (CPD).
- Become a licensed chaperone and support The Lowry productions when needed.
- Be willing to work flexible hours including regular evenings and weekends.
- Maintain effective systems of communication within The Lowry, building strong relationships with key departments who will be central to effective delivery.
- Promote and comply with legislation and The Lowry's policies on Safeguarding, Security, Data protection, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion and Health and Safety both in the delivery of services and the treatment of others.

**Essential Skills and Experience**:

- Proven ability to work with children and young people and community groups.
- Excellent communication and networking skills with colleagues and partners.
- The ability to prioritise, work under pressure and deliver against set aims and objectives to agreed deadlines.
- An understanding co-created or youth led approaches.
- IT skills including Outlook, Word and Excel; Database skills; Internet skills.
- An understanding of approaches to working with complex and vulnerable groups.
- Understanding of relevant and current Vulnerable Adult and Child Protection issues.
- Understanding of and commitment to equality and diversity.
- Knowledge of digital/performing &/or visual arts practice.

**Desired Skills and Experience**:

- Ability to bring persistence, enthusiasm, resilience and creativity to working with diverse audiences, including complex or vulnerable groups.
- Knowledge of Salford geography and communities as well as key agencies and networks.
