The post holder is responsible for providing psychological therapy services to children and young people with mental health problems open to the CAMHS 2+ Service.

The post holder will also be responsible for liaising and working with other professionals, the assessment and care of children and young people and provide CBT consultancy and advice to staff. In addition, the role may also require supervising other members of the team/students where appropriate.

You will need to be confident in carrying out risk assessments and safety planning and required to deputise in the absence of the Clinical Lead.

You’ll become a valued member of the ‘front door’ services to CAMHS which include the Single Point of Access Team, Mental Health Support Teams and Primary Care Network CYP Mental Health Workers.

As a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist in CAMHS 2+, you will be able to:

- Offer CBT therapies as part of the Multi Disciplinary CAMHS 2+ team.
- Provide specialist consultancy to the multi-disciplinary team and other professionals with regard to problem assessment, formulation, the appropriateness of CBT, how when and why approaches may need to change and client management.
- Plan and undertaking teaching and training in CBT to other members of the team.
- Maintain and further develop high standards of the delivery of CBT through cooperative work with multi-disciplinary colleagues.
- Keep abreast of developments in CBT by study and by attendance at relevant CPD events as agreed with the CBT or Child Psychology lead.

The CAMHS 2 + service offers short term targeted emotional and mental health support to young people and their families in Somerset. The team also work closely with the Mental Health Support Teams and other CAMHS teams, whilst also forging important working relationships with key voluntary and statutory services.

**Other job responsibilities include**:

- Providing specialist psychological assessment, clinical formulation and a range of psychological interventions for children and adolescents with mental health problems and their family/carers.
- Providing consultancy service to the community team and other agencies as appropriate.
- Developing and contribute to an area of specialist expertise relevant to CAMHS 2+.
- Participating in clinical supervision and management supervision arrangements provided by the service and maintain CPD to uphold registration requirements
- Supporting CAMHS 2+ in the development and implementation of effective Clinical Governance.
- Supporting and participating in multi-disciplinary clinical audits in the service.
- Promoting the use of effective interventions in the service.
- Undertaking any other duties at a comparable level of responsibility as may be allocated, such as attending meetings as appropriate, fulfilling duties of weekly timetable, and duties as instructed by your manager or appropriate authority.
- Developing working relationships with Clinical Lead for CAMHS 2+, Operational Manager for CAMHS Early Intervention Services, Multi-disciplinary colleagues, Multi-agency colleagues (including Children’s Social Care, Paediatricians, Education).
- Traveling to locations within the team area or Somerset county as required.
