Taunton, United Kingdom Somerset NHS Foundation Trust Full time

An exciting opportunity has opened in our CAMHS West Community Team for a Family Therapist. You are invited to join our small and dedicated team of experienced family therapists who work together to provide clinics in the West Somerset Area. There is a wider network of Family Therapists in Somerset Foundation Trust, offering peer support and input into the wider development of Family Therapy. We also have links with Exeter University and are offering placement experiences to Trainee Family Therapists.

Alongside your Family Therapy Clinics, you would be a valued member of our diverse Multi-Disciplinary Team, providing assessment and intervention to children and young people with Mental Health Disorders allowing you to work flexibly and creatively to ensure positive outcomes for the children young people and families in our service. The multi-disciplinary team is made up of family therapists, psychologists, mental health practitioners, Psychiatrists and Support Workers. We ensure regular opportunity to support clinical discussion and shared hold of risk and risk management.

We are also looking for someone who is able to contribute to the team dynamic and learning by contributing to team meetings, peer supervision and clinical supervision. We also provide learning afternoons across both sides of the county to our wider CAMHS team which are lead and attended by clinicians from all backgrounds and experience. We are looking for a practitioner who can continue to build on developing a strong systemic approach to assessments and reflecting team practice.

As an organisation, the NHS offers a wide range of benefits including flexible working, fantastic pension contributions, market leading annual leave allowance, career progression and regular conversations, not to mention our Blue Light Card and NHS exclusive discounts.

The benefits of working in Somerset include the idyllic countryside, with our areas of outstanding beauty and stunning coastlines. You will get to enjoy these perks whilst still only being a stone’s throw away from bustling city centres like Bristol, Bath and Exeter and only two hours away from London.

There are excellent educational facilities in the area and, when compared to other regions, house prices are reasonable. You will experience the best of both in Somerset, the countryside and the cosmopolitan - there is truly something for everyone
