As part of our dedication to expanding and upskilling the workforce in our CAMHS Family Therapy teams, we are delighted to be able to offer a Trainee Systemic Family Therapist post.

This is a training post for Social Workers, Occupational Therapists and Registered Mental Health Nurses with post registration experience to work within our established CAMHS Teams, providing services for Children and Young People with Emotional and Mental Health problems.

available to interview on 31st March 2023 with a joint Exeter University and CAMHS interview panel,

able to start the training in September 2023 at to Exeter University

possess a qualification in systemic family practice permitting access to an MSc Family Therapy Course.

The post holder will be a member of the West Team for the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) and will have responsibility for the assessment, treatment and evaluation of treatment provided to clients referred to the team in addition to being aligned to our Family Therapy clinics.

You'll join the team in supporting children/young people presenting with a broad range of complex difficulties including anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, trauma and those presenting with associated risk.

The post holder will work autonomously and collaboratively with team members providing services at clinical bases and within client’s homes, as well as a range of other settings as appropriate.

- CAMHS offer excellent clinical supervision, peer supervision, safeguarding supervision and management supervision with a workable caseload.

The hours of work are 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

- The post holder will be a member of the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) and will have responsibility for the assessment, treatment and evaluation of intensive treatment provided to clients referred to the team.
- The post holder is responsible for providing comprehensive, holistic psycho-social assessment and interventions for children and adolescents presenting with mental health difficulties, and their families/carers, referred to Specialist CAMHS.
- The post holder will work autonomously and collaboratively with team members providing services at clinical bases and within client’s homes, as well as a range of other settings as appropriate.

The post holder will provide support to other team members and clinical supervision to junior members of the team.
