**Job description**:
The Security Advisor Lead post sits within the Security, Resilience and Information team, and is responsible for leading the team to deliver advice, knowledge, direction and active support on all security issues relating to DD. This includes Government and MOD security policy; evaluation of security risks and protective measures; and strategic oversight of all security activities across DD establishment including lodger sites. You will need to build working relationships with MOD Police, MOD Guard Service, military, civilian, contractors and Crown Hosting.

**Person specification**:
This post leads on:

- Providing advice and implementing physical, personnel, information and asset security for DD establishments, facilities, and operations adhering to relevant Joint Services Publications, Site Administration and Operation Procedures and Cabinet Office Policy Framework.
- Providing advice and delivering the protection of Defence Critical National Infrastructure (DefCNI), undertaking and/or overseeing assurance inspections and exercising of security measures.
- Providing advice and delivering the security of Armouries; Arms, Ammunition & Explosives (AAE); and items Attractive to Criminal and Terrorist Organisations (ACTO).
- Providing advice on Counter-Terrorism policy and delivering security measures, liaising as required with the Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure (CPNI), Joint Terrorism Analysis Centre (JTAC), and local Police Forces.
- Providing advice and enabling the risk management of operational and day to day business versus the threats to ensure that business is delivered in a pragmatic, but sufficiently secure manner.
- Representing DD corporate interests to ensure that policy, direction, and advice keeps abreast of DD’s business requirements while countering new and evolving security threats.
- Annual review and agreement of contract with MOD Police and MOD Guard Service as site-needs change.
- Leading the management of investigations into security breaches, incidents, and near misses and to ensure that lessons are learnt and improvements made.
- Understanding of Crypto services and of the Crown Hosting environment, and Communication Information Systems.
- Leading, delivering and fostering a strong security culture across DD, which values, protects, and enables DD through audit, education, awareness.
- Engaging with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across DD, Strategic Command, Defence and wider Government, through relevant working groups.
- Responsibility for DD Security Induction and training / awareness activities across DD.
