- The Cyber Defence and Risk (CyDR) directorate is at the forefront of cyber security and Information Technology within UK Defence and is responsible for enabling Defence through the provision of specialist assurance and cyber security services across UK Defence, including industry partners, other Government Departments and our international allies. Services provided by CyDR include:
- MOD defensive cyber strategy development
- Development of cyber security policy
- Managing and driving mitigation of Departmental cyber risk
- Security assurance and accreditation support and advice

CyDR sits within the Defence Digital organisation, who provide digital and technology services to our Armed Forces. **Job description**:

- The Cyber Crypt-Key Control Policy Co-ordinator position is a vital member of the Crypt-Key Control team. We are a small, highly effective, specialised team, that sits within the Defence Digital Directorate representing the CyDR Crypt-Key Enterprise Authority (C-KEA). We provide support to the wider CyDR Crypt-Key Team, which enforces Cryptosecurity governance across Defence and Industry.
- In this role, you will be supporting delivery of cryptographic policy for Defence. This will include overseeing a schedule of drafting, updating/uplifting and reviewing documents for Defence Cryptographic policy.
- You will act as the main interface between lead authors of policy and wider stakeholders and act as a point of authority for Defence industry, regarding policies and activities.
- Additionally, this position will assist with risk management within the Crypt-Key enterprise, reporting and managing investigations of MOD Cryptographic incidents and onward liaison.

- Assisting in the day-to-day activity of implementation, assurance and governance of MOD Cryptosecurity policy.
- Facilitation, Support and co-ordination of Cryptographic Incident reporting in accordance with policy.
- Prioritise, investigate and triage reported or suspected cryptographic incidents.
- Provide administrative support in the management and facilitation of the COMSEC Custodian Awareness Training, including bookings, issuing joining instruction and preparing all supporting materials.
- Support and act as Deputy to the Crypt-Key Policy Manager as required.
- Support the establishment of an appropriate protective security organisational posture, to encourage an effective risk-based approach to Cryptographic security across the enterprise, taking into account political, economic, social, technological, legal and environmental considerations
- Demonstrate sound understanding of the intended outcomes of the policy and what successful end-to-end delivery looks like.
- Assess quantitative and qualitative data to support the creation of evidence-based policy, evaluating and presenting evidence within the appropriate tooling.
