Our client is a leading innovation funding consultancy specialising in grants, R&D Tax Credits and loans. We work with some of the UK’s most groundbreaking businesses, helping them to maximise their government funding opportunities and build technologiesthat will change the world. We have extremely ambitious plans for the years ahead and are looking for an experienced, high-calibre sales operative to deliver double-digit growth.
As the new Head of Sales for our R&D Tax Credits unit, you’ll be tasked with overseeing a growing team of business developers, managing the unit’s P&L, and achieving significant growth in our R&D Tax Credit sales. While sales targets will primarily sit withyour team, you’ll be expected to coach them through prospect calls, negotiations, and muck in to close deals when required. We’ll also look to you to work closely with our marketing team to devise campaigns and assets that accelerate lead generation.
In a typical week, you might:
Refine the team’s 2023 go-to-market strategy, working closely with the Commercial Director
Consult our budgets and targets for the coming month or quarter
Chair regular connections with your sales colleagues, diving into results and helping individual team members troubleshoot their approach
Dive into a 1-2-1 with one of your team to talk about their progression
Explore our services with a prospect and negotiate a contract
Feedback on new vertical-led campaign content with the Marketing Manager
Present results and field questions at the Sales & Marketing meeting
Requirements:
- Successful history of selling R&D Tax Credits services
End-to-end sales experience
Experience managing a team of 5 or more
Experience running a team P&L
Success selling loans secured against clients’ R&D claims (desirable)
An understanding of the innovation grants landscape (desirable)
