Pay and Employee Services Officer

I am currently recruiting for a Pay and Employee Services Officer to work at my client a leading public health organisation based I the S5 postcode of Sheffield.
**Your role will be to ensure the delivery and provision of a comprehensive, cost effective and efficient service duties will include**:
- Interpret, verify and input confidential employee information into the integrated Payroll and HR system, ESR - complying with internal and external deadlines, in order to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time.
- Act as the point of contact for both clients and employees to provide technical advice, information and support on highly complex pay issues, terms and conditions and statutory regulations.
- Be responsible for the processing of an allocated workload within strict time and quality restraints whilst ensuring that correct procedures are followed and that statutory and legislative requirements are applied and maintained.
- Ensure all employee new starter records are set up in ESR following transfer of the applicant record from NHS Jobs, where appropriate and all new starter information is checked to ensure employees are paid correctly.
- Verify and approve new employees through the ESR Inter-Authority Transfer process to confirm starting salary, leave, sickness and contracts.
- Adhere to a multitude of varying and conflicting deadlines and be adaptable in unexpected circumstances.
**To be successful in this role you will have**:
- Experience working in a specialised integrated HR/Payroll/Pensions department
- Knowledge and experience of HMRC regulations in respect of payroll and pensions regulations
- Sound understanding of the Data Protection Act.
- Knowledge of NHS National Terms and Conditions of service
- The ability to use Microsoft Office packages including Word and Excel
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent numeracy and writing skills
- The ability to work under pressure to strict deadlines by planning and prioritising own workload.
- Self-motivation and ability to work under own initiative.
**The hourly rate starts at £10.29 (PAYE) and rises to £11.89 after 12 weeks.**
**The hours of work at Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.**
