We currently have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Payroll Officer, part-time, 22 hours within our Finance Team.

**Hours are**

**22 hours a week with the working hours of**:
**Monday (mandatory) 8 hours**

**Tuesday (AM, 4.5 hours)**

**Wednesday (AM, 4.5 hours)**

**Thursday (AM, 5 hours)**

**In a nutshell, you will be responsible for**:
Functioning of our group Payroll operations. Your overarching responsibility will be to meticulously oversee the end-to-end processing of payroll for our diverse workforce, comprising around 350 employees. This entails not only ensuring accurate and timely payment distribution but also maintaining compliance with relevant regulations and policies governing payroll procedures. Your role will involve liaising with various departments and stakeholders to address any payroll-related queries or issues, thus fostering effective communication and collaboration across the region. With your meticulous attention to detail and expertise in payroll management, you will uphold the integrity and reliability of our payroll processes, contributing significantly to the financial well-being and satisfaction of our employees.

**What you are already great at**:

- **
Workflow Management**: Efficiently manage the workflow to ensure accurate and timely processing of assigned payrolls.
- ** Starter and Leaver Management**: Handle new starters and leavers effectively, managing tasks such as starter checklists, tax codes, National Insurance, Student Loans, P45s, and P11ds.
- ** Overtime and Absence Processing**: Prepare, verify, and process overtime and absence data.
- ** Third-Party Deductions**: Process third-party payroll deductions, including AEOs, DEAs, Court Orders, Child Maintenance, PAYE, and voluntary deductions. Reconcile deductions for all payrolls monthly and generate payment requisitions.
- ** RTI Submission**: Balance monthly payroll Real Time Information (RTI) figures and submit to HMRC.
- ** Reporting and Analysis**: Prepare and distribute monthly and ad hoc reports as needed by the business. Perform data manipulation and reporting tasks.
- ** Pro-Rata Calculations**: Conduct manual payroll pro-rata calculations accurately.
- ** T&A Management**: Oversee the Time & Attendance (T&A) process end-to-end.
- ** Continuous Improvement**: Actively engage in identifying areas for improvement, driving change, and challenging existing methods and standards to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

**For this role we would need you to demonstrate**:

- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of end-to-end payroll processing experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of effectively communicating with colleagues at all levels.
- A flexible team player with a positive attitude, able to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Demonstrates a commitment to honesty and high standards.
- Exhibits confidence in driving change, with a motivation to challenge accepted methods for continuous improvement.
- Familiarity with UK tax codes and National Insurance legislation.
- High level of attention to detail, coupled with intermediate Excel skills.
- Possession of a Level 3 Payroll Qualification; experience using Sage and Workday is advantageous.
