High Wycombe, United Kingdom Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust Full time

The Crisis Response and Home Treatment Team in Buckinghamshire Mental Health Services is a key part of the Urgent Care Pathway meeting the demands of the Ten-Year Plan to provide Crisis Response and Home Treatment Services to the county of Buckinghamshire.

Clinicians employed into the team are part of an exciting and developing service aimed at supporting our most vulnerable patients and their families in the least restrictive setting possible, by providing a variety of highly intensive interventions at home.

A Crisis can manifest with a range of needs and whether you have a background in mental health nursing, social care or occupational therapy we want you to use your skills as part of a team to develop individualised care packages for our service users and their families.

We deliver home treatment interventions, as well as an online acute treatment programme and clinics at Saffron House, with support from psychiatrists, psychologist and the other clinicians. Training in brief interventions is encouraged and fully supported, as well as any other training related to Crisis Intervention and Home treatment.

Service Users access a crisis response in a variety of ways, ranging from referrals from their GP and attendance at an emergency department, to when they need care in the community and are seen by the police and our street triage teams. The aim of the Urgent Care Pathway is to bring together all those access points under one team, including:

- Psychiatric Liaison
- Overnight Response Team
- Assessment Teams
- Street Triage and Health Based Places of Safety

Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust provides physical, mental health and social care for people of all ages across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Swindon, Wiltshire, Bath and North East Somerset.

Our services are delivered at community bases, hospitals, clinics and people’s homes, delivering care as close to home as possible

Our vision is that no matter who you are or where you are, you will tell us that you receive: “Outstanding care delivered by an outstanding team”

**Our values are**: “Caring, safe and excellent”

At Oxford Health we offer a wide range of benefits designed to support your career and wellbeing. These include:

- Excellent opportunities for career progression
- Access to tailored individual and Trust wide learning and development
- 27 days annual leave, plus bank holidays, rising to 33 days with continuous service
- NHS Discount across a wide range of shops, restaurants and retailers
- Competitive pension scheme
- Lease car scheme
- Cycle to work scheme
- Employee Assistance Programme
- Mental Health First Aiders
- Staff accommodation (please note waiting lists may apply)
- Staff networking and support groups hosted by our Equality, Diversity & Inclusion team

We require a Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Social worker who can work independently, with the support of the team leaders and the wider crisis team clinicians and can bring their own professional expertise to a fast-paced team, and who are confident in managing risk in the least restrictive way.

By its nature, crisis work requires professionals who have a broad range of skills including being skilled mental health assessors with a proven ability to signpost service users towards the most effective treatment pathways. The Crisis Clinician role is an important development in nursing care provision and is pivotal in helping us deliver safe and effective care to our patients.

The successful applicants will participate in a duty rota of early, late or long day shifts covering 7 days a week and we are committed to supporting staff to balance home and work life. We are a friendly and supportive team with strong leadership and direction. Our work is interesting and varied with plenty of opportunities to learn new skills both in the workplace and via our excellent Learning & Development team. The role is predominantly based at Saffron House in High Wycombe and may require some wider travel within the county.
