**THE COMPANY**

The company is privately owned, and family run, and they have a very successful business that requires a very competent head of finances to manage, oversee, and be responsible for the whole accounting function for the business.

Experts in their chosen field, (estbl. over 50+ years ago) have a great reputation & expertise within the construction arena, & possessing an impressive portfolio of clients, having worked with some over 20 years.

**OVERVIEW**

The role will suit someone who is looking to work locally and who has a comprehensive financial and accounting background, ideally having worked within the construction, manufacturing, industrial or mechanical engineering industries.

Also preferable are accounting qualifications

This role will report into the Board, so will require someone who will fully immerse themselves into this key role ; familiarising yourself with all areas of the company, such as; staff and its products, to ensure you have a complete understanding of thepast, & present business and also forecasting and budgeting for future business to ensure maximum growth and profit along the way

Covering all aspects of the running the company finances including everything up to Trial Balance including ; VAT, Fixed assets, supplier payments, bank reconciliations, accruals, Corp Tax payments. HMRC payments, etc & working with Sage 50

Also required, will be the overseeing & supervision of a small team of loyal and knowledgeable accounts and admin staff, ensuring they are meeting deadlines and escalating any issues or queries to you for resolution to keep books in order.

This will suit someone who as a passion for all things accounting, almost like an auditor, who has a sharp eye for the books, can spot an anomaly and whose strength lies in running very efficient, well organised and ordered accounts, for submission to theirAccountant

**DUTIES;**
- Payroll for 50 + staff via Sage 50 covering all areas of payroll, starters, leavers, pension, contractors & CIS payment
- Managing multiple company bank accounts, transferring between for managing payments etc
- VAT returns
- Supplier payment requests and authorisation
- Managing fixed asset register
- Customer invoice payments
- Final Accounts
- Depreciation
- End of year adjustments
- Accruals,
- Prepayments
- Some basic HR and Health & Safety.
- Accounts Receivable (Treasury) Monthly
- Annual Accounts
- Stock Checks.
- Forecasting
- Management Accounts

**SKILLS & EXPERIENCE**

Someone with experience of all of the above duties

Qualified ACCA ideally and by experience

SAGE 50

VAT
