HR & Engagement Assistant

**How will you contribute?**
- Support increased engagement across the home delivery network with specific focus on the Branston site.
- Drive our Diversity & Inclusion action plan across the network, including regular reporting and supporting delivery of key actions.
- Drive and promote the employee engagement survey, providing support to local operations / HR teams ensuring high level of completion, realistic action planning and delivery of key actions.
- Supporting the delivery of the contract communications across the Branston and CDC network ensuring the management of all media displayed on sites.
- Support the organisation and delivery of key engagement events e.g. charity selection process, regular charity and community events.
- Collaborating with key operational stakeholders and the wider Wincanton business to develop, implement and lead on effective reward and recognition schemes.
- Manage communication campaigns to support site initiatives and the Mental Health/wellbeing calendar.
- Support the development of a learning culture across the contract by working closely with the people team and local training teams to promote Apprenticeship activity and L&D opportunities.
- Develop and maintain links with local community organisations, promoting and facilitating Corporate Social Responsibility opportunities and building relationships with local media.
- Responsible for chairing our engagement committee meetings on a monthly basis.
- Supporting two days per week as a People Assistant for our home delivery network, including supporting employment relation issues such as disciplinary & grievance, absence management, note taking, letter writing, HR reporting and more.

**What will you bring?**
- Experience in a similar role would be beneficial
- A creative flair to support the design of communication materials is essential
- Must be committed to providing a high quality, efficient and flexible service to support the contract
- Enthusiastic, hard working, methodical, capable of working independently and in a team
- Flexible and adaptable to a business with changing needs involving some flex of core hours and travel to other sites within the network (when required)
- Can prioritise tasks and align to operational requirements where required
- A proactive approach, efficient and high level of personal organisation
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times.
- Effective and confident communication skills at all levels
