An exciting opportunity has arisen for an apprentice position within the Mental Health Act and Legal Services Team.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and hard-working individual to support the smooth running of our specialist legal services team to ensure compliance with multiple legislative instruments.

The role will involve general administrative duties, office procedures and document scrutiny. In return the apprentice will receive specialist in-house and off-the-job training which would lead to a high-level understanding of varied legal services and the NHS environment, and a Level 3 NVQ Business and Administration qualification.

This is an eighteen-month fixed term contract working full time (37.5 hours/week) Monday to Friday and will be based at Trust Headquarters in Lincoln.

To provide an effective administrative support service to the Mental Health Act and Legal Services Team.

To undertake and engage with advanced training on legislation and governance topics.

To answer incoming calls in a prompt and friendly manner, some of which may be non-routine and may involve information of an emotional and distressing nature. To connect caller to desired member of staff, another appropriate person or take a message.

To gain an understanding of the key areas of the Trust and be able to deal sensibly with queries and direct callers to the correct person/department.

To perform routine office procedures including typing of letters and other documents as delegated by senior administrative staff, opening and distributing correspondence, photocopying, scanning, filing and faxing in accordance with current trust procedures.

To understand the process of booking meeting rooms and taking minutes for weekly meetings.

To be confident and competent and possess advanced keyboard skills in order to operate and navigate Microsoft Office packages.

To provide administration cover to other areas of Trust Headquarters and undertake other ad hoc duties commensurate with the role as required.

To participate in the supervision process, undertake mandatory training and comply with the Trust's policies and procedures.

To ensure patient and staff confidentiality is maintained at all times adhering to Trust and national policy
