**About the Role**:
**Base Location**: Dublin or Belfast
**Salary**: €74,600 - €111,800 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Join SSE as the Head of Internal Communications and lead the evolution of our Internal Communications team within the Energy Customer Solutions (ECS) businesses. Take charge and set the strategy, supporting core objectives, and overseeing the team's performance across the island of Ireland and GB. Foster collaboration with SSE Group communications, ensuring seamless coordination of internal communication materials through graphic design, digital content, and video production. Be the go-to person for the ECS Executive Committee and senior leadership teams, championing development, approval, and delivery of our communication strategies. Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Leading the development and execution of ECS's comprehensive Internal Communications strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives, and delivering impactful plans that drive effective communication across the organisation.
- Key business partner to the leadership team within SSE Energy Customer Solutions, contributing to the creation of materials that foster and sustain employee engagement. Representing ECS in key meetings, establishing strong relationships with senior leadership for effective collaboration.
- Collaborating with internal and external partners to enhance existing and introduce new Internal Communications channels including Poppulo, Viva Engage, and Sharepoint. Utilising advanced reporting tools to create insightful dashboards, providing a clear view of the ECS Internal Communications function's impact and continuous improvement.
- Assuming overall responsibility for crafting and delivering impactful engagement activities, including the Annual Leadership Conference, MD Roadshows, Townhalls, Comms Sessions and supporting activity around the Great Place to Work survey. Managing the production of significant internal communications content and events, ensuring alignment with ECS objectives.
- Managing the ECS Internal Communications team, offering coaching, governance, mentoring, and support. Driving collaboration by representing ECS at the Group level, actively participating in the Employee Steering Group, and gathering internal and external best practices to enhance Internal Communications across ECS.
**What do I need?**
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- Experience of leading communications teams, particularly within large, complex organisations and high-performing teams with diverse skill sets.
- Proven success in crafting and executing communication strategies and plans, including those related to significant change and transformational programs. Capable of interpreting and developing briefs swiftly to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in managing complex relationships amidst evolving environments and responding to diverse stakeholder needs. The ability to influence and negotiate with senior management and business partners, fostering effective employee communication outcomes across various functions and levels.
- Creativity and attention to detail with the ability to inspire and coach others. Experience of collaborating with third-party suppliers, including agencies and creatives to deliver imaginative design solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Superior writing skills, translating complex information into accessible content for the target audience, and distilling complex messages into an integrated and compelling narrative. Well-versed in crisis communications with a solid understanding of a broad spectrum of employee communication channels.
