LifeCare Edinburgh is a registered charity providing positive and practical services for local older people and their carers. We run a busy, fully accessible and multigenerational community centre and café in the heart of Stockbridge offering classes, activities and room-bookings for local groups.

We are recruiting for a new Volunteer Coordinator, to help us reconnect with the volunteering community. Volunteers are essential in helping us run our vital services, they help deliver activities within our centre and café, support our services for older people, our fundraising team, our community events and our dedicated office team.

**Purpose and Scope of Job**

The main purpose of the role is to:
As the first point of contact for LifeCare volunteers, you will ensure they receive a warm and friendly welcome, and any queries are dealt with in an efficient and professional manner. You will ensure the management and smooth operation of volunteer placements and provide supervision and support to volunteers.

You will work closely with managers to identify new volunteering opportunities across the organisation and lead on the development of relevant policies and plans. You will develop and implement a volunteer strategy for organisation to ensure delivery targets and outcomes are achieved.

In partnership with fundraising & communications colleagues, you will promote volunteering opportunities across the local community, third sector organisations, community groups and local businesses.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Temporary
Contract length: 12 months
Part-time hours: 26 per week

**Salary**: £18,686.00 per year
