1) Contribute as part of the multidisciplinary team to the provision of specialist care to patients, by promoting and improving safe, evidence-based blood and component transfusion.2) Be a source of specialist knowledge in transfusion procedures, for patients, nursing and medical staff within the trust and the wider health care community.3) Contribute to the Trust's governance agenda, through risk assessment, policy implementation, education, and clinical practice development.4) Following directives and policy guidance of the HSC 2002/009 "Better Blood Transfusion" EU directive 2002/98/EC and Serious Hazards of Transfusion (SHOT) recommendations to enable the trust to adhere to these requirements.5) Promotion of Patient Blood Management strategies by ensuring the appropriate use of blood and components, as part of best transfusion practice, ensuring a reduction in blood usage and adherence to the hospital transfusion policies.

**Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as 'Priority' and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.**
