Description

**Neglect Lead, Ref: CH12322**

**Salary G9 £36,298 - £41,496 per annum**

**This is **2 year fixed term** post with a potential of this becoming a permanent role.**

Neglect is the most common form of abuse and an adverse childhood experience. We know that children who experience Neglect may go onto experience long term negative effects on their health, well-being and life opportunities. We want to improve outcomes for children experiencing Neglect in Walsall by intervening as early as possible.

As part of our approach to working with children and families we have developed a Neglect strategy 2021-2024 and the NSPCC's Graded Care Profile 2 will be introduced and embedded across the wider Partnership

The Neglect Lead role will drive a whole system approach across the partnership to recognising and responding to neglect, working closely with multi-agency safeguarding leads of the Walsall Safeguarding Children Partnership.

**The main purpose of the job role is**:

- To lead on the development of pathways, policies and practice guidance to ensure the response to neglect is a key priority across Walsall.
- To review the current position for neglect, and consult with internal and external partners to design and implement screening tools to ensure the earliest identification of neglect.
- To lead on an extensive implementation plan, training and support for the use of the NSPCC GCP2 Graded Care Neglect assessment tool across the partnership focusing on all levels of need, with specific focus on ensuring the earliest assessment of neglect where care to children is substandard.
- To review, design, co-ordinate and develop the wider neglect training and practice offer to the partnership.
- To develop, oversee and report on the quality and assurance and analysis of the use of neglect tools and neglect assessments, developing methods to evaluate the impact and benefits across the partnership for children and families living in Walsall.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an established energetic and ambitious business unit team for the Walsall Safeguarding Partnership. We are looking to appoint a skilled and experienced Practice Lead. This role will focus primarily on our priority area of prevention of child neglect.

You will work closely with the Business Manager, team and multiagency Safeguarding Leads and frontline practitioners to create stronger partnership arrangements with communities and other organisations, influence change for children, and work towards our strategic goals.

Join us and you’ll become part of a team who care about the work we do and the people we work with.

We are looking for someone who has strong planning skills along with the ability and experience to work well on the delivery of change projects.

If you’re ready for your next challenge, we’re ready to hear from you
