**What You Will Be Doing**

The purpose of the role is to work with the Touchstones Team to contribute to developing, creating and sustaining stronger relationships with local communities, groups and individuals to engage them as equal creative partners in the research, development and delivery of an ambitious programme of collections exhibitions, commissions and initiatives. This includes working across the collections (art gallery. museum and local studies) and will also involve supporting the development and implementation of a strategy for co-collecting with the local community to diversify our collections and increase their relevancy to contemporary Rochdale.

**What We Need From You**
- Experience of working with historic objects and works of art
- Experience of undertaking and facilitating research into different collection areas
- Experience of a range of collections management practices
- Experience of devising, delivering and managing community engagement and outreach projects
- A good understanding of current environmental and sustainability principles and good practice within the arts and heritage sector
- Practical exhibition installation skills including handling artworks
- Excellent project management and organisation skills and the ability to co-ordinate tasks to deliver activities and events smoothly
