**Job Title**

Contact Centre Volunteer Staff

**Role Description**:
Volunteers assist the Contact Centre Duty Staff to prepare the Centre for families by ensuring a safe and welcoming space.

Volunteers help create a warm and social atmosphere to encourage children to relax and enjoy their visit, promoting a positive view towards contacts.

Volunteers support the facilitation of contacts between children and visiting parents/grandparents/guardians, this includes the child handover between parents/guardians to avoid meeting.

Volunteers can sometimes provide refreshments for children and their families and seek to protect children from conflict.

**Availability**

Saturdays - (Time varies between) 9:00am - 4:00pm.

Minimum hours - Ranging from 2hrs to 7hrs per day depending on demand.

**Restrictions - Experience required**
- An interest in children and experience of working with children is preferable
- Knowledge of child development ages and stages
- Empathetic with the ability to remain neutral
- Assertive
- Non-judgmental and ability to remain neutral
- Calm and patient
- Friendly and compassionate
- Willingness to learn and reflect
- Flexible

Travel details: At our Contact Centre's - in Kilmarnock, Suit’s 12-17, The Neighbourhood, Centre Stage.

Own travel is required but travel expenses are reimbursed.
