**The Role**
We are looking for someone who has a positive track record in working with volunteers both at an operational and strategic level and quality assurance experience. You will be responsible for developing a volunteering business case for structured volunteering and work experience. Working as a volunteer coordinator, you will manage all elements of volunteering CentreStage.
You will also be responsible for quality assurance across Centrestage ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, ensuring safe governance procedures are implemented and evaluated.
In your experience, you will have demonstrated energy and stamina in the role and will be known by colleagues to be highly organised and dependable.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Research and write volunteer policies and procedures, including risk assessments.
- Liaise with colleagues for which you're recruiting volunteers to understand how they work, develop partnerships, and assess their needs.
- Generate appropriate volunteering opportunities and role descriptions based on the needs of CentreStage.
- Raise staff awareness of the role and the function of volunteers.
- Promote volunteering through recruitment and publicity strategies and campaigns.
- Recruit and interview volunteers and ensure they are appropriately matched and trained for a position.
- Carry out pre-volunteering checks, including references and disclosure checks where appropriate.
- Organise rotas and provide inductions and training, as well as debrief interviews for departing volunteers.
- Ensure there is appropriate support and training for volunteers through regular informal contact and more structured reviews.
- Monitor, support, motivate and accredit volunteers and their work.
- Celebrate volunteering by nominating volunteers for awards and organise celebration events.
- Support volunteers into employment if and when required.
- Organise profile-raising events to attract new volunteers.
- Manage budgets and resources, including the reimbursement of expenses.
- Keep up to date with legislation and policy related to volunteering and make any necessary modifications to accommodate changes.
- Monitor and evaluate activities and write reports.
- Maintain databases and undertake any other administrative duties.
- Ensure that standards and safety regulations are observed.
- Address and discuss issues and proposed solutions.
- Document quality assurance activities and create audit reports.
- Make recommendations for improvement.
- Create training materials and operating manuals.
- Deliver training as required.

- Educated to degree level or equivalent experience working in a charitable organisation.
- Excellent communication skills, including networking and presentation skills.
- Strong people skills, to deal with a diverse range of people.
- Experience of managing or coordinating projects and volunteers
- Empathy with volunteers and an understanding of their needs
- The capacity to inspire and motivate others.
- Negotiating, influencing and critical thinking skills
- The ability to deal with information in a confidential manner and respond with sensitivity.
- Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task and plan and prioritise your workload.
- Administrative and IT skills (MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and an ability to maintain records and produce clear written and oral reports.
- An understanding of the sector, commitment to the organisation you work for and, if relevant, empathy with service users.
- Proven work experience within a Quality Assurance role
- Working knowledge of tools, methods, and concepts of quality assurance
